    Muihood’s Creative Makeover for Skincare Success

    The Situation

    Muihood is a skincare brand that blends Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with modern science to offer effective, heritage-inspired products. Their flagship product, the Good Chi Cleansing Balm, features a nourishing formula with soybean oil, ginseng root, and goji berry, designed to protect and rejuvenate the skin. Despite having a strong product and a commitment to celebrating TCM, Muihood faced challenges in scaling their growth. Their existing advertising content was visually appealing but lacked optimisation for performance in paid media.

    The Brief

    Muihood tasked us with revamping their ad strategy to drive better performance and support their growth ambitions. The challenge was to create a diverse set of high-performance ads—videos, images, and tests—using their existing bank of creative that would effectively showcase their products and appeal to their target audience. Our goal was to blend existing user-generated content (UGC) with fresh, brand-focused visuals. Additionally, we aimed to experiment with innovative elements such as motion graphics to enhance engagement and make the ads more compelling and effective.

    The Approach

    At BARK, we embraced a strategic and creative approach to meet Muihood’s needs. Our first step was to take on board the clean, refined aesthetic inspired by their Yin and Yang philosophy. They have a really sleek design style with vibrant orange accents which we wanted to bring through into their ad content.

    We created a range of high-quality assets, each serving a distinct purpose:

    Images: We centred the product in each visual, ensuring it was prominently featured. Using Muihood’s orange and white brand colours created a cohesive look. We added trust pilot ratings to build credibility and incorporated clear CTAs with a prominent “Buy Now” button. The visuals focused on showcasing the balm’s texture and key ingredients while highlighting its main benefits, such as its nourishing and protective qualities. These images were designed for use in static ads to grab attention and drive conversions.

    Videos

    Our videos included dynamic, engaging content that demonstrated the product’s use and highlighted its unique selling points. We incorporated motion graphics to create visually captivating elements, such as the transformation of the balm from oil to milk. These videos were designed to provide more detailed information and build a deeper connection with the audience. They served to drive engagement and enhance the user’s understanding of the product’s value.

    Shorts

    Our shorts ads were designed to capture quick, engaging moments that highlight the Good Chi Cleansing Balm. Featuring a combination of product shots and demonstrations of the balm being used, these videos aimed to spark initial interest and boost brand awareness. With concise messaging, they highlighted the key benefits and unique selling points of the Good Chi Cleansing Balm. In paid media, their primary goal was to capture attention and encourage viewers to explore the product further.

    UGC-Style Videos

    Edited to highlight real customer experiences, these videos featured relatable messaging alongside genuine feedback and positive reviews. They included benefits, product shots, and visuals of the product in action from UGC creators. By showcasing authentic experiences and fostering a sense of community, these videos aimed to build trust, increase click-through rates, and drive conversions in paid media.

    We also made sure to integrate clear calls-to-action (CTAs) and trust pilot ratings across all creative assets. This focus on performance-driven design was intended to improve click-through rates and conversions.

    The Results

    The new creative assets were crafted to boost Muihood’s brand visibility and engagement using our expertise and best practices. We combined polished images, dynamic videos, and innovative motion graphics to enhance brand awareness and audience interaction. The UGC-style videos aimed to build trust and resonate with viewers, with the objective of driving higher click-through rates and conversions.
